Alledio Relay MX Extender

A standalone DIN-rail relay module for light loads in HVAC and building control. MX adds switched outputs in the electrical cabinet for the Alledio Room Unit / Room Controller and other Modbus controllers, with five (MX-EXT5) or three (MX-EXT3) normally-open contacts.

Applications

Five (MX-EXT5) or three (MX-EXT3) normally-open contacts with a shared COM switch the light loads around a fan-coil unit or a room — up to 5 A per contact at 250 V AC (resistive).

Key Features

MX-EXT5 has five normally-open relay contacts, MX-EXT3 has three, both with a shared COM. Each contact switches 5 A at 250 V AC or 3 A at 30 V DC (resistive), with up to 16 A through COM, separated from the 24 V side by reinforced insulation.

Three application modes are set over Modbus: fan-coil (3-speed fan with interlock on O1–O3, plus two valves on MX-EXT5), independent relays, and curtain control. It runs on 24 V AC or 18–42 V DC (polarity-insensitive), draws 0.2 W with contacts open, mounts on a TH35 DIN rail and ships at Modbus address 8, 115200 baud, 8N1.

Operating Modes

Both variants ship in Mode 1. Mode, slave address (1–247, stored in EEPROM), motor interlock, motor group mask and bus termination (none or 120 Ω) are set over RS485 Modbus RTU. Factory-fresh devices share address 8 — commission them by factory serial.
